Earl Haig School Advisory Council depends on family, guardians, and the Earl Haig community to assist with planning, organizing, and staffing our events. Freezie Fridays! Starting May 19, 2022
We are excited to announce that Freezie Friday is coming back to Earl Haig Public School!
Starting on a Thursday, before the Victoria Day long weekend, we will be kicking off selling freezies at lunch time for $1.00. Funds collected will be used to support school events and supplies, like graduation celebrations, sports equipment, Scientists in the school, etc.
- Location: Tables will be set up in the school yard.
- Time: Freezies will be sold from 11:15am – 1:00pm (cash only)
- Cost: $1.00

Past Events
SPRING COMMUNITY FESTIVAL – May/June
This event is the most anticipated event of the year at Earl Haig PS! Hosted in our school yard, food, fun, games and entertainment is enjoyed while we raise much needed funds for the school! There are lots of ways for you to help make this event a success both before and during the event, like food prep, game set-up, volunteer to work festival stations, supply prizes, and baked goods.
MARLIES GAME – March / April
Earl Haig School Advisory Council sells tickets to a Toronto Marlies Game, with skating on the ice afterwards! Volunteers are need to help with planning the event.
FOOD AROUND THE WORLD POTLUCK – February/March
All are invited to this delicious night! Everyone who attends brings a dish of their choice, and then we all enjoy an evening of yummy food. The kids are also entertained by a dance troop that will keep them busy for an hour! Volunteers are need for set-up, to assist with the food stations, and to clean up after the event.
VALENTINE’S CUPCAKE SALE – Thursday, February 13th
Bakers, bakers, bakers! We need lots of volunteers to bake cupcakes for our annual Valentine’s Day. Students may purchase a cupcake, and it will be delivered to their classroom for their Valentine’s Day treat! Yum.
MOVIE NIGHT – Late January or February
Movie nights are family-fun nights at Earl Haig! Families come to watch a movie in the gym while eating pizza, snacks and popcorn. Volunteers are needed to prep food, set-up the gym, assist at the food stations, clean up after the event.
TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCH – January
Our teachers are awesome! Once a year we like to treat them to lunch at the school. Volunteers are needed to set-up the food and drinks, serve the food, and clean up afterwards.
BOTTLE RECYCLING – Saturday, January 4th, 2019
Earl Haig PS is a certified Eco-School. Once a year, the School Advisory Council asks caregivers and community members to donate their empty bottles to raise funds for school initiatives. Volunteers are needed on-site at The Beer Store (Woodbine Ave. & Barker Ave.) to sort donated bottles and cans.

CURRICULUM NIGHT PIZZA DINNER – September 25th, 2019
Curriculum Night is always a rush to feed the kids and get back to school, so School Council helps to feed you dinner! Pizza is preordered and served in the lunchroom before families head up to visit classrooms. Volunteers are needed at the event.
PUMPKIN PATCH – Friday, October 25th, 2019
Annually, Earl Haig School Advisory Council transforms the Kindergarten Play Yard into a Pumpkin Patch where people may purchase their Halloween pumpkin and some amazing baked goods. Volunteers are needed day-of to unload pumpkins and help with sales at the event. Bakers are needed in advance to whip up delicious treats for us to sell alongside the pumpkins.
