Leaving Ladies
Hilary Gray
(She’s the one on the left)
At our last Council meeting, Hilary Gray, our beloved Council President, announced that she would be stepping aside as President. While we are excited for Hilary’s new teaching capacity in the TDSB, we are sad that she will no longer be able to sit as president. Hilary has promised to mentor the council and will continue to play an active role in school events. Hilary, we thank you for all you’ve done and all you continue to do.
This means the School Council will be looking for new leadership at the September 2015 meeting. If you are interested in learning more about the role, or have a great idea about being a co-president with a pal, feel free to reach out to the School Council (earlhaigschoolcouncil@gmail.com). The first School Council meeting of the new academic year will be September 15.
Ms. Ellis
As most of you will already know, Ms. Ellis has left Earl Haig. We want to thank Ms. Ellis for being a dynamic, caring partner to the School Council. We wish her well in her sabbatical to devote more time to her family, and at her next school. We welcome Mr. McLachlan as the school’s new principal and look forward to continuing the work of the school council with him.
There are quite a few other teachers leaving Earl Haig this year and we want to thank them for their contributions to student life at Earl Haig and their kindness in interactions with our children.
Eco Schools
Congratulations to Earl Haig for maintaining its Platinum Eco School designation!
Fundraising Survey
Thank you to everyone who has completed the fundraising survey. Your thoughts and comments are invaluable in assisting with the direction of fundraising at the school – what kind of campaigns to undertake, and where the monies should be directed. If you haven’t completed the survey yet, there is still time. Click here – the survey should not take more than 5 minutes to complete.
