Say cheese!
Picture Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 25th! We hope your student smiles for the camera (and for all of the relatives and family friends who may receive the school photo).
The pictures are being done by BrightPics again this year and they share these tips:
- Wear bright and solid coloured clothing for best results.
- Feel free to send a comb so that they can style their hair before the photo.
- The photographers are trained to reduce glass glare.
- Don’t worry if the students have any scratches or blemishes on photo day, there is an option for retouching if you place an order.
Curriculum Night
Wednesday, September 26th is Curriculum Night at Earl Haig P.S. and it’s a great opportunity to see your child’s classroom, meet the teacher, hear about learning opportunities and field trips, and ask general program questions.
Remember to fill out this form for a pizza dinner and send it back in your student’s backpack by tomorrow morning (along with payment), if you’d like the School Council to take care of dinner that night. We cannot accept walk-in orders, so please get those pizza forms back to the office tomorrow morning!
Orange Shirt Day
Earl Haig P.S. will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day on Friday, September 28th. This is a chance to discuss the harm of the residential school system in Canada to Indigenous children and communities and its ongoing effect on survivors.
Please consider sending your child to school in an orange shirt (or other piece of orange clothing) on Orange Shirt Day.
For more information, or to read Phyllis (Jack) Webstad’s story about having her new orange shirt taken from her as a young child, please visit the Every Child Matters website.
Have a great week, everyone!
