Last Council Meeting – Don’t Miss It!

It’s our last School Advisory Council meeting of 2019! Please join us as we meet on Wednesday, November 20th from 7pm to 8:30pm in the school Music Room (in the basement). As at every meeting, childcare is available.

Join us and you’ll get the lowdown on upcoming events (like our next Movie Night!), volunteer opportunities, hear updates from Principal Root about the school, and you’ll have an opportunity to share any ideas or suggestions you may have. You don’t need to be on the council to attend – everyone is welcome!

Check out our full agenda for this week’s meeting.

Do you have any questions for the Principal? Send them his way ahead of the meeting by using this quick and easy form: http://bit.ly/2O7yFO9

Hope to see you there!

What Do Photo Retakes and Bike Lane Consultations Have in Common?

…they are both taking place this Thursday, November 7th!

Earl Haig photo retakes are taking place in the morning only. Please let your child’s teacher know if you would like them to have retakes done.

The first community consultation for bike lanes on the Danforth is happening Thursday night, 6:30 PM at Monarch Park CI. If you are a regular cyclist (or would like to be!) please come by to learn more about the Complete Streets study and show your support for bike lanes!

Halloween Week at Earl Haig

First up, thank you to all who supported our Pumpkin Patch last week, and to those who volunteered and baked for it. We’d love to see photos of how you carved up those Earl Haig pumpkins! Feel free to tag us in pics of your Jack-o-Lanterns on Instagram or Twitter or post a photo to our SAC Facebook page!

Also, a reminder that Earl Haig’s Harvest Festival Food Drive is happening right until October 31st. All donations are appreciated and greatly needed. We have raised half of the goal so far – so let’s rally and fill all the boxes for Community Centre 55!

Tomorrow is the big Halloween costume parade! Parents and families are welcome to join as students (and teachers) show off their rad costumes. The parade starts at 12:45pm and takes place rain or shine — inside along the hallways (if rain) or outside around the track (if shine). Please have students leave any weapon-like props at home.

There are festivities planned throughout the day, with a haunted house happening in the library and a Halloween dance later in the day.

Have a spooktacular Halloween, Earl Haig!
