Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving to others and volunteering our time. On this day, charities, businesses, and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. Here are a few Earl Haig PS associated initiatives to consider if you would like to participate in Giving Tuesday:

Toronto Foundation for Student Success is the non-profit organization who make our school’s hot-meal program possible (serving over 3,000 meals/snacks a month at Earl Haig PS). This Giving Tuesday, please consider giving back by making a donation to help support their efforts, and our students: https://tfss.ca/

Once again, Earl Haig PS is supporting the annual Community Centre 55‘s Share a Christmas programme. There will be a Food Drive (running December 3rd to the 14th), the Teen Angel gift programme, our annual Mitten Tree for decorating with new winter items, and the Pet Lover’s programme. Click here for more information on how you can help.

Reminder: School Advisory Council Meeting is Tonight!

If you don’t have any plans this evening, please consider joining us at our last Council meeting of the year. We will be gathering in the Music Room at 7:00pm tonight. Childcare is available.

Take a look at tonight’s meeting agenda. Do you have a question for the Principal? You can use this form (until noon) to submit your question to Mr. Root.

If you can’t make tonight’s meeting but would like to plan ahead, please take a look at our calendar for our Council meeting dates for the new year.

Movie Night!

We are pleased to share that the first Movie Night of the school year will take place Friday, November 23rd. Join us in the gym for popcorn, pizza, and a showing of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. Doors open at 6pm and the movie starts at 6:30pm.

Dinner order forms will be sent home in backpacks this week, so please keep an eye out (or print and fill out this printable form). Forms need to be returned to your child’s teacher by Monday, November 19th. We are an Eco certified school, so be sure to bring your reusable water bottle.

There will also be a raffle for premium holiday concert seats! It’s sure to be a great evening – hope to see you there!

Volunteers needed

If you’re able to help the afternoon of or during movie night, we would definitely appreciate the help! We can’t do these events without the support of our Earl Haig community. Please take a look at what roles are available and volunteer if you can.
