Welcome to the 2024-2025 Earl Haig P.S. Nutrition Program

Earl Haig P.S. is pleased to continue to provide the Grades 1-8 Lunch Program and Kindergarten Snack Program for students. Lunch and snack menus are based on Toronto Public Health Nutrition Guidelines for Student Nutrition Programs and include servings of fruits or vegetables, whole grain foods and protein foods (dairy, meat, or alternatives). Students in Grades 1 to 8 will be offered lunch in the lunchroom and the snack program will be delivered directly to classrooms.

Our nutrition program receives partial funding from provincial and municipal grants through the Toronto Foundation for Student Success, and through parent donations, allowing us to distribute nutritious snacks and lunches to all students. While this program is not run by the SAC, we support the parents, caregivers, and community members volunteering their time and effort to provide this program to our students.

We are challenged this school year by the rising food costs and a recent reduction in grant funding. To help us continue to deliver high quality nutritious meals to our students, if you are financially able to, please consider donating more than the suggested amount per meal.

To participate in our student nutrition program, please complete the applicable Google Form(s) with allergies and dietary restriction information. If you have more than one child, complete a separate form for each of them.

Online Nutrition Program Donation Procedure

As noted above, the Earl Haig P.S. Nutrition Program is completely run on financial support from The Toronto Foundation for Student Success and donations from parents and caregivers such as you.

If you are financially able to, please consider a monetary contribution to help us continue to run the nutrition program. Regardless of family donations, all Gr. 1-8 students will continue to be offered lunch and kindergarten students a snack (upon completion of this permission form). The suggested donation is $3.50/day for lunch and $1/day for kindergarten snack but any amount is appreciated.

To make your donation to the program, please see the following information:

First, please go to the Toronto Foundation for Student Support (TFSS) donation page here: https://tfss.ca/donate/schoolsites-snp/

Then follow these steps:

  1. Choose either one-time or recurring donation (this will recur indefinitely until notified)
  2. Select your donation contribution
  3. Choose Earl Haig P.S. Nutrition Program from the drop-down below “I want to support”
  4. Complete the donor information as this will be shown on the tax receipt.
  5. Once all is confirmed, “Give Securely” will prompt payment information.
  6. Enter payment information.
