CANCELLED: Wellness Wednesday: Raising Sexually Healthy Teens & Tweens

Please note the event is cancelled until further notice, we will update you once a new date is available.

Children who have opportunities to discuss and learn about sexual health, bodies, and boundaries are more likely to become teenagers and adults who make sexual decisions they can feel good about.

Please join us for a discussion about what our kids already know, what we would like them to know, and some tips on having these conversations. We will be led by Jennifer Katz, RN, Sexual Health Promotion, Toronto Public Health.

The discussion will take place in the Music Room and childcare will be available.

What’s Better Than Pizza Friday?

… Pizza Wednesday!

Due to the possibility of strike action next week (affecting Earl Haig on February 6th and 7th), we are moving our Pizza Lunch to Wednesday, February 5th. All orders currently in the system for February 7th will be honoured on Wednesday. If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, you can do so until Monday. If you need to edit or cancel your order, you may also do this up until two days before any Pizza Lunch.

Reminder: you can sign up and pay online via Munch a Lunch. Choose from cheese or pepperoni pizza ($2.50 per slice), gluten free and dairy free pizza ($3.00 per slice), and juice boxes ($1.00 each), too!

For children in the before-and-after care at Earl Haig, please be sure to select their lunchroom teacher and room from the drop-down list instead of their classroom teacher.

If you aren’t able to order by credit card online just send an email to Polly and she will help make other arrangements.

You Rock!

The Dance-a-thon was an amazing success!  With our students’ fancy footwork and the support of your family and friends we raised $14,000 for TechEH!!!!

We want you all to know that 30 Chromebooks have already been purchased and are in use in the school because of your fundraising!  We will be sure to let you know when the next round of devices are purchased as we strive to properly outfit our school with technology to assist with classroom learning.

Now for the winner of the pizza lunch:  Congratulations to Mr. Tamkei’s class for raising the most money per student for the Dance-athon — second year in a row!  Mr Cepin’s class were also fantastic fundraisers so they will get to celebrate with a licorice candy party!

We had a great team of amazing volunteers who helped make this event a success: Shannon (our fabulous DJ), Tuyen, Polly, Joel (who provided all of the amazing lights + sound equipment), Susan, Andrea, Michelle, Erica, Jeff, Helen, Brooke, Sally, Emma, and Erin. Thank you all for your help — we could not have done this without you!
