Play EH! It’s coming your way!

Our school is kicking off an enormous fundraising initiative to revitalize the students’ playground with more monkey bars, climbing activities, seating areas, and improved accessibility. And we need YOUR help to make it happen!

To learn more about the project and to donate (tax receipts given!) online or by cheque, please take a look at our Play EH! page.

For more details on the Play EH! plans, budget and progress, stay tuned to our blog and social media, or check out our display board in the school’s front foyer.

Wear Pyjamas for Sleep Day!

A reminder for all that the Student Council’s Sleep Day event is taking place tomorrow (Friday, November 30th). It is in support of Sleeping Children Around the World. Students are encouraged to wear their PJ’s for the day on Friday and/or bring in a $2 donation. The money is used to purchase BedKits for children in poverty. Each kit costs $35 and includes a bedroll or mat, pillow, mosquito net, and school supplies. Check out www.scaw.org for more information.

Let’s show a sign of support for a good night’s sleep by children around the globe!

Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving to others and volunteering our time. On this day, charities, businesses, and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. Here are a few Earl Haig PS associated initiatives to consider if you would like to participate in Giving Tuesday:

Toronto Foundation for Student Success is the non-profit organization who make our school’s hot-meal program possible (serving over 3,000 meals/snacks a month at Earl Haig PS). This Giving Tuesday, please consider giving back by making a donation to help support their efforts, and our students: https://tfss.ca/

Once again, Earl Haig PS is supporting the annual Community Centre 55‘s Share a Christmas programme. There will be a Food Drive (running December 3rd to the 14th), the Teen Angel gift programme, our annual Mitten Tree for decorating with new winter items, and the Pet Lover’s programme. Click here for more information on how you can help.
