November Meeting

Please save the date for our next SAC meeting, taking place this Wednesday, November 17th at 7pm.

In lieu of the agenda (which we will share with you all shortly), we offer up this terrible, terrible joke:

Q: What’s the opposite of November?
A: Yesvember.

See you Wednesday!

Jackets, Gloves, Boots, Oh My!

Q: What do mountains wear to keep warm?
A: Snowcaps!

It’s going to take more than snow caps to keep all of our Earl Haig students warm this winter. To bulk up our fantastic Winter Outerwear Lending Library program from last year, we are holding a donation drive tomorrow and Friday (October 28th, 29th) from 8:30am to 9:00am at the playground entrance to the school (off of Currie Ave).

So far this year, we are mostly in need of gently used or new:

  • jackets for all sizes
  • warm gloves
  • snow pants
  • neck warmers (*but please no scarves, we cannot give those to the children)
  • boots

If you have something to donate, but cannot make those dates, please let us know.

Thank you for your support!

School Food Drive

A reminder that Earl Haig PS will be collecting non-perishable food items until the end of this week (Friday, October 22nd) to help one of our local food banks, Glen Rhodes Food Bank. If you are able to, please consider sending your child to school with non-perishable food items and help people in our community who are experiencing food insecurity.

Here are a few examples of food and other items that are most needed:

  • baby food (as well as diapers)
  • peanut butter
  • canned meats and fish
  • pasta
  • sauces
  • beans
  • soups
  • pet food
  • socks
  • personal hygiene products

For more information, please contact the main office.

Thank you for your generosity!
