The Earl Haig Community Festival was a HUGE success. 20+ cakes won at the cake walk, glitter tattoos, old school games and a talent show that not only showcased our Earl Haig talent, but allowed us to use our fancy new audio gear purchased with the funds from the school council. Goodbye static and hello Carley Rae Jepson!
Thanks to everyone for volunteering. Up next? Our next batch of grade 8s graduate and our new kindergarten students get to meet their teachers!
The Earl Haig Community Festival is on Thursday and the organizers are looking for some more helping hands. Post a comment to the blog, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact information and the times you are available between 3:30 and 7 and we will most definitely get back to you.
We hope that you will all come out and join in the fun. As always, these kinds of events are successful because of the support of our families.

We’re in the home stretch! The Earl Haig Old School Community Festival is on May 30 — that’s next week — and we need your help!
By popular demand, we are bringing back the JARS! The only catch? We NEED jars filled with cool things and LOTS of them. Starting next week, please bring in to school your jars filled with NEW things.
You can fill your jar with lots of one thing, like marbles, bubble
gum, stickers, balloons, racing cars – or go with a theme jar such as a jar
filled with magic tricks, crafts, outdoor activities – you get the idea.
Get creative and start planning YOUR jar! Jars can be dropped off in the office.
A filled jar can be yours (or your kid’s) for only $2 at our Old School Community Festival — buy a ticket, get a jar. It’s that easy!
A reminder that May 24th is the staff appreciation lunch for all the amazing folks that keep Earl Haig running. Folks from our school community can show their appreciation by providing snacks, light lunch items and treats.
Dishes can be dropped off in the staff room (second floor of the new wing) if they need refrigeration that morning or in the office into Louise’s capable hands if they can sit out.
Please post a comment on the blog or email email@example.com if you are interested in contributing.
An inaugural event created by Hilary Gray (co chair of Earl Haig School Council) and Miranda Snyder (from The Rail Garden.) All proceeds will be going to to Earl Haig Garden Initiatives. This is a licensed event.
