The Dance-a-thon was an amazing success!  With our students’ fancy footwork and the support of your family and friends we raised $14,000 for TechEH!!!!  

We want you all to know that 30 Chromebooks have already been purchased and are in use in the school because of your fundraising!  We will be sure to let you know when the next round of devices are purchased as we strive to properly outfit our school with technology to assist with classroom learning.  

Now for the winner of the pizza lunch:  Congratulations to Mr. Tamkei’s class for raising the most money per student for the Dance-athon — second year in a row!  Mr Cepin’s class were also fantastic fundraisers so they will get to celebrate with a licorice candy party!

We had a great team of amazing volunteers who helped make this event a success: Shannon (our fabulous DJ), Tuyen, Polly, Joel (who provided all of the amazing lights + sound equipment), Susan, Andrea, Michelle, Erica, Jeff, Helen, Brooke, Sally, Emma, and Erin. Thank you all for your help — we could not have done this without you!

 

It’s our first School Advisory Council meeting of the year next week and we have so much to talk about. Please join us as we meet on Tuesday, January 21st from 7pm to 8:30pm in the school Music Room (in the basement). As at every meeting, childcare is available.

Join us and you’ll get the lowdown on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, hear updates from Principal Root about the school, and as always, you’ll have an opportunity to share any ideas or suggestions you may have. You don’t need to be on the council to attend – all are welcome!

As everyone settles back into school routines, we wanted to share the reminder that we are just under a week away from our Dance-a-thon for TechEH. On Thursday, January 16th Earl Haig students will bust a move to keep us moving on our goal of funding much-needed technology resources for our school. The more money we raise, the more tablets we will be able to purchase!

Pledge envelopes went home with students before the holiday break. Please return the envelope with the cash/cheques to your student’s teacher by January 18th.

• All pledges $25 and over will receive a tax receipt.
• Cheque should be made payable to “TDSB – Earl Haig PS” with “TechEH” in the memo line.
• Online donations: https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com/ – select “Earl Haig PS – TechEH(1306) from the Fund Destination Dropdown Menu

Students can also bring loonies and toonies on the day of the Dance-a-thon for snacks and glow bracelets.

**As a bonus, the class who averages the most pledge money per student WINS a pizza lunch!
