Pumpkin Patch – Tomorrow!

How do you mend a broken jack-o-lantern?

With a pumpkin patch!

pumpkin-for-sale-01

Just a reminder that we are turning the Kindergarten play yard into our very own pumpkin patch tomorrow morning.

We will have pumpkins of various sizes for sale ($7 each), and yummy baked goods and jars of honey up for grabs, too. Please note, the event is cash only. For your convenience, pumpkins can be purchased at the sale and picked up at the end of the school day.

It looks like it will be a chilly morning, so be sure to warm yourself up with a hot cup of FREE coffee at the pumpkin patch, too.

As always, all money raised helps fund school and education initiatives for Earl Haig students.

We hope to see you there!

Halloween at Earl Haig

Halloween is gearing up at Earl Haig and we have a couple of additional school community initiatives to share with you.

Halloween for hunger food drive

The Earl Haig PS community is collecting non-perishable food items until October 31st in support of Community Centre 55. Collection boxes can be found in front of the school’s office. Please consider giving what you can to help scare away hunger.

Suggestions of items to donate include:

  • Pasta (canned or dry) and pasta sauces.
  • Canned meats and fish.
  • Meat alternatives (peanut butter, soy, assorted nuts)
  • Canned goods (beans, soups, stews)
  • Canned and powdered milk
  • Canned vegetables and fruit
  • Whole grain cereals
  • Infant foods and baby formula
  • Pet Food

Take ’em or leave ’em costume swap

Costume swap sign

From now until Halloween, drop off unneeded costumes on the costume swap table located outside the office and walk away with a boo-tiful new-to-you costume for your kiddo this Halloween!  It’s a take ’em or leave ’em swap, so you can pick up a costume even if you don’t have one to donate. Please stop by!

Pumpkin Patch Volunteers Needed!

We need your help to make our annual Pumpkin Patch on October 25th a great success!

Volunteer on Pumpkin Patch day

The fun begins early with unloading the pumpkins and transforming the Kindergarten playground into a Pumpkin Patch. Then, we need volunteers to sell the pumpkins and baked goods throughout the morning! Will you help? We sure hope so! Please sign up online with the shift (or shifts!) that work for your schedule: http://signup.com/go/LpZcDuJ

Volunteer ahead of time

Want to help but can’t volunteer at the event? You’re in luck! We will need bakers to donate a breakfast friendly baked good (please, no nuts!). Bakers can bring their yummy goods to the office the day before or to the Kindergarten yard the morning of the sale.

As always, thanks for your help!
