Let’s Go, Marlies!

Just a reminder that this Saturday, March 24, we are heading to Ricoh Coliseum to see The Toronto Marlies take on The Belleville Senators (game time is 4pm).

If you purchased tickets for the game, be sure to check backpacks this week for a handout with location, ticket pick-up and post-game family skate details.

If your child’s name was drawn for one of 40 spots in the pre-game fan tunnel, you will be contacted via phone or email.

It should be a great game and we’re especially looking forward to hearing the Earl Haig Choir sing during intermission!

Play, Eh! Help Us Redesign Our Eastern School Yard!

School-Yard-Community-Invite3

Before our Earl Haig community heads off for a fun and safe March break, we wanted to make sure you knew about an upcoming meeting about our very exciting eastern school yard redesign.

Please join us for this collaborative session focussed on the renewal and transformation of our eastern school yard. We want to hear your input and creativity on how to redesign the best possible space for our school and community!

The meeting runs from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, on Thursday, March 22nd, at the school. Please RSVP to Vice-Principal Richard Ng if you are able to attend.

Have a wonderful March break!

Looking Ahead to March

We’ve had a fantastic February – both weather-wise and in terms of our cupcake sale, which raised $900 (thanks to some sweet-toothed students!) – and we are now looking ahead to a busy and fun March!

Food Around the World

First up, tomorrow, March 1st, we have our wildly popular Food Around the World potluck. It will run from 6-8pm in the gymnasium. Bring a labelled nut-free dish to share, your own cutlery and plates, and get set to learn some new dance moves courtesy of Culture Shock Dance Troupe.

Let’s Go Marlies!

Next up, a reminder that Friday, March 2nd is the deadline to purchase tickets for the Toronto Marlies game on March 24th. Please send in the order form to your child’s teacher or the main office. It’s sure to be a fun game!

Call for Volunteers for the Spring Festival!

Lastly, we are hosting a volunteer kick-off meeting this Sunday, March 4th for our spring community festival (happening May/June – date to be confirmed soon).

The festival is always the most anticipated event of the year at Earl Haig PS! It’s hosted in our school yard and is loaded with food, fun, games, and entertainment all while raising much needed funds for our school! There are tons of ways for you to help make this event a success, (both before and during the event) like food prep, game set-up, volunteer to work festival stations, or help supply prizes and/or baked goods.

Whether you’re able to attend the kick-off meeting or not, please send Hilary a note if you’re interested in volunteering for this year’s festival. We can only make these great events happen with your support!
