Reminder: RSVP for your seat at The Toronto Marlies game!

Just a reminder to RSVP by Friday, March 2nd to attend The Toronto Marlies game on March 24th (4pm start) with other members of Earl Haig PS. Please submit the order form that was sent home in mailbags to your teacher or to the main office by Friday. Tickets are $22 each and you can buy as many as you would like.

It’s sure to be a great game! Our very own Earl Haig Choir will be singing during intermission, there will be a family skate on the ice afterward (7pm – 7:50pm), and 40 students will be picked via a lottery draw to participate in the pre-game Fan Tunnel.

MMMmmm… Our Food Around The World Potluck is Back!

foodAroundTheWorldGraphic-01Put your chef’s hat on and prepare a dish to share with your friends in the Earl Haig community!

Once again, families and staff are invited to our wildly popular Food Around the World potluck taking place on Thursday, March 1, from 6-8pm, in the gymnasium.

Bring a dish to share from your cultural background or simply one that your family loves to eat. Whether it’s a main dish, salad or dessert…everything will be appreciated and enjoyed. (Pizza will also be on hand.)

Please bring your own cutlery and plates and clearly label any serving dishes. Remember, all dishes must be nut-free. Please label any other special dietary considerations (gluten-free, egg-free, etc.) that your dish may include.

Afterward, Culture Shock Dance Troupe will rock our bodies and teach us some new moves!

Next School Council Meeting – Wednesday, February 21st

IMG_7731

We hope you will join us for our next school council meeting, taking place this Wednesday, February 21st, from 7pm to 8:30pm in the Music Room.

We will have a very special guest speaker at this month’s meeting! Ruth Bell (TDSB Principal of Safe and Caring School) will be speaking about progressive discipline — what is it? and what does it mean for your child’s classroom?

As always, the council meeting will include updates from Principal McLachlan. If you have a question, comment or suggestion you would like Principal McLachlan to address at the meeting, please visit our Questions for the Principal page and click submit before noon on the 21st.

We want to hear from you!  All adult caregivers are welcome to attend the meeting (you don’t need to be on the school council). Free childcare is available for anyone who needs it. Council meetings are a great opportunity to share your ideas of new and exciting ways to contribute to the education of students at Earl Haig.

Hope to see you there!
