Bowmore Presents: It’s Bigger than Hip-Hop

Please see information below for this great session from Bowmore school’s Social Justice and Equity Committee on Thursday, January 28th.

Join Hip-Hop scholar Dr. Francesca D’Amico-Cuthbert and Hip-Hop artist and educator Marcus Singleton as they discuss the cultural, educational, and commercial impact that Hip-Hop culture has on these institutions. We will also give a brief history of Hip-Hop and how it transformed from a culture to a commercialized commodity. We will also discuss the importance of utilizing Critical Hip-Hop Pedagogy within school and classroom settings in order to better understand social identities in context, youth culture, and racialized specialties.
